As some of you know, Staci and I were at the Catalyst conference in Atlanta this past week. If you aren't familiar with Catalyst, it's basically a huge gathering (13,000) of Christian leaders from pretty much everywhere. Honestly, this is not really my favorite kind of thing because (a) I'm not crazy about crowds and (b) I'm not a huge fan of "Christian culture"... but we did hear some tremendous speakers. The docket read like an evangelical "who's who". Here are some of my favorite quotes from the week:
"God takes full responsibility for a life wholly devoted to Him." - Andy Stanley (quoting Charles Stanley)
"My responsibility is to be obedient to God and trust Him with the consequences." - Andy Stanley (quoting Charles Stanley)
"It's not about who's on your side. It's about who's side you're on." - Andy Stanley
"Incompetence irritates me, but overconfidence scares me". - Malcolm Gladwell
"The medium is the message" - Shane Hipps
"You are a eucharist. You must be broken and poured out for the healing of the world." - Rob Bell
"Sometimes we're so busy with what we're building that we don't see what we're becoming" - Reggie Joiner
"I haven't been soaking in the grace of God... so I haven't been displaying it." - Francis Chan
"We must think we're God, since we're trying to control every situation." - Priscilla Shirer
"You are made in the image of what you desire." - Louie Giglio (quoting Thomas Melton)
Perhaps these quotes will speak to you as they have to me.
"It's good to be home" - Tim Worden
